There are plenty of things to see and do in and around our friendly quiet relaxed village of Kinlochbervie.
Nearby are the villages of Durness!8 miles North & Scourie which is 16 miles East.The drive to and from these villages is part of the tourist route for NC500 and an area that attracts visitors to return year after year.
The whole surrounding area is a stunning natural wonderland situated in the heart of the North West Highlands Geopark, with some of the oldest and most beutiful rock formations in the World
Why not visit Cape Wrath, on the main road to Durness where the small ferry boat transports visitors to this most north-westerly point on the British mainland. A number of long distance footpaths terminate here, Scotland's new National Trail and the Cape Wrath Trail from Fort William. Kinlochbervie is an ideal staging point along these walks.
For the wildlife enthusiasts the local Countryside Ranger runs a variety of walks during the summer months pointing out our native species from golden eagles to otters. A program of events and more information is featured here.
Visit our beautiful beaches like the famous one at Sandwood (pictured) or the less well known but equally picturesque at Oldshoremore and Polin.The perfect white sand on all our beaches alsong with the crystal clear water is perfect for sea Kayaking, paddling and there are rock pools which are a memorable way to spend a sunny afternoon.
Amongst our mnay mnay mountains are hundreds of lochs for the keen fisherman, permits are needed to fish these and the adjoining rivers, a very relaxing and tranquil hobby in such idyllic surroundings.
Near the harbour local artist Barry Pearson exhibits his stunning paintings depicting local scenes. Barry has prints and originals for sale and samples of his work can be seen here.
For the more active visitor there's hillwalking, canoeing, fishing, horse riding/mountain bike hire, and diving all within a stone's throw of the village.
